Google光纖（英語：Google Fiber）是Google公司最初在堪薩斯州的堪薩斯城和密蘇里州的堪薩斯城試點光纖通訊建造高速網際網路基礎設施的一項實驗性服務。^[2]^[3]逾1100個社群為成為首撥試點進行申請。^[4]2011年3月，Google宣布堪薩斯州的堪薩斯城將成為Google光纖的首個試驗城市。^[5]此後該服務衍生到了亞特蘭大、奧斯汀、夏洛特、納什維爾、普若佛等城市。^[6]

2012年7月，在完成了網路設施的鋪設後，Google宣布了體驗Google光纖專案的定價。這項服務將會提供三種不同的選項，包括一個免費的網際網路接入的選項，每月70美元的1Gbps網際網路選項，另外還有一個包含電視服務的每月120美元的選項。網路服務的選項中包含Google雲端硬碟擴至1TB，電視服務選項包含可將1TB的數位影片錄影機錄影內容匯入Google雲端硬碟的功能。電視選項中，Nexus 7 平板電腦還可成為客廳系統的遙控器，並可使直播內容在iPad或Android平板上進行播放。堪薩斯城的居民可向Google提出接受服務的預登記，最初的體驗者將會在這些進行申請的社群中產生。^[7]

2012年愚人節，Google光纖宣布他們的產品並不是光纖網路，而是一種可食用的纖維素。在陳述中，Google Fiber食用纖維被描述為可提供「身體所需的用以維持活性、能量和動力」。^[10]
