前往老挝如果不符合免签证、落地签证或电子签证要求，则必须在老挝驻外机构办理签证。旅客的护照有效期必须在6个月以上。^[1]

持有以下国家的外交或公务护照的旅客可免签证停留30天（特别注明除外）：^[2]

老挝和土耳其于2018年11月签订了适用于外交护照的互免签证协议，但尚未生效。^[14]

落地签证和电子签证[编辑]

除了下一章节列出的国家外，其他大多数国家的公民可以办理落地签证和电子签证，签证费视申请人国籍有所不同。

落地签证的停留期为30天，可延期2次，在老挝境内最多可停留不超过90天。签证延期由各省移民办公室办理，需要收费。^[15]^[16]

电子签证于2019年6月开始运行。^[17]^[18]电子签证自签发之日起60天内有效，入境老挝后可最多停留30天。^[19]电子签证申请可于3个工作日内处理完成。

上表中未列出的口岸不受理落地签证或电子签证，这些口岸有些不对第三国公民开放，还有些会要求非免签国公民出示老挝驻外机构签发的签证。
