無性戀

無性戀亦稱為無性向（Asexuality，也称为nonsexuality），[1][2][3]是指一些不具有性傾向或者宣称自己没有性倾向的人，即不会對男性或女性任一性別表現出性傾向[4][5][6]，或者缺乏对于性的兴趣。[6][7]2004年发表的研究结果提及無性向占人口的1%。[8]不過無性向是否是一種性傾向到目前為止都還有爭議。
無性向者有别于禁欲者和独身主义者，一般没有宗教信仰的因素。[9]他们對男性和女性都持著一種較冷淡的態度，不會對任何一方產生興趣，但會因自己的性別或日常經歷而對某一性別多出一些好感。無性向者難以對某一性别的人產生很多好感，亦不多會对这种性别的人表露出多少厭惡。一些無性向者由于各种各样的原因，如希望找个伴侣或渴望拥有孩子而与别人发生性行为，尽管他们缺乏性欲或性吸引力。
直到最近，無性向开始被更多科学家承认是一种性取向并进行研究[4][6][10][11]，开始有一系列的从社会学和心理学的角度的研究对無性向进行解释。[6]但仍然有一些人反对把無性向作为一种性取向。[10]随着网络的普及，各种无性恋社区开始在互联网和社交媒体上形成。其中最知名的是Asexual Visibility and Education Network（AVEN），成立于2001年。
2012年8月，加拿大布鲁克大学的学者发现，無性向者在世界人口中可占到1%的比例[12]，总数大约有7000万的人口。
